Arduino

There are a lot of options if you would like to play (or do something serious) with microelectronics. Actually, new platforms a popping up all the time. It is hard to predict which one(s) will flourish and which will fail to excite makers.
I'm not going to advocate fiercely for one platform or the other, simply because I lack the knowledge to do so.
I'm currently learning how to do stuff with Arduino. Arduino has quite large community and seems like it's here to stay. It's one of those things where you stumble upon something and turns out to be a lucky stumble. The easiest way to start is to get yourself an Arduino kit which comes with bunch of sensors, switches, LEDs, ICs, motor(s), breadboard and an Arduino Uno. From what I've seen, they are all very much alike. In case you are wondering, I got mine from Laboratório de Garagem. I got to them from the list of authorised Arduino dealers in Brasil (where I currently live). I was happy with the super kit I bought from them. Probably from any other distributor would be fine too. I bought also components from Robocore and Filipeflop. So far, everything is going smoothly. There are also other shops with more general mirroelectronics supplies (like resistors, capacitors...), you should really look for one in your neighbourhood and get friendly with the staff. You will often need them :)

Bigger projects will have their own Page, but smaller things and tutorials will be listed here so they can be accessed easier (and not have to go trough the whole blog history).
